New Year 2025 Update.

In January and February,  we are looking at developing our descriptive writing, taking inspiration from Michael Morpurgo's novel Kensuke's Kingdom! In maths we have looked at fractions and decimals, and we are applying these numeracy skills to money. 

In our Gaeilge lessons, our topic is "Na Seasúir" and we are learning our weather and date vocabulary as Gaeilge. We will also revisit the topic Mé Féin and develop that language further.

We are thrilled with our GAA lessons with James from Celbridge GAA, and very much looking forward to our upcoming Gymnastics lessons. 

We have also looked in depth at Ancient Egypt, using on line searches and library books to answer such questions as "What did they eat?" "What did they wear?" "How were bodies mummified?" and "Why were the tombs so elaborate?"

The children will use their research skills in a project on their own choice of ancient civilisation.

For art, we have tried to emulate the Ancient Egyptians, who were expert linen weavers, by learning how to weave small pieces. And Recorder lessons are continuing with our lovely Music Generation teacher, Vera.
