Welcome to the 2024-2025 3rd and 4th Class Page!

For September we are looking at developing our comprehension, by reading short extracts from novels, and some factual pieces. The overarching theme of the pieces we are reading is Animals, and we are also looking at some animal food chains in Science.

In our Gaeilge lessons, we are revising and developing our reading, and our spoken and written vocabulary within the themes of  "Mé Féin agus mo Chlann" (Myself and my Family) and "Ar Scoil" (At School).

In Maths we are taking a close look at place value of 3- and 4- digit numbers, and exploring addition and subtraction within those numbers, through the use of concrete material and problem solving. We will also take a look at the topics of shapes and capacity.

We will be revising our knowledge of the Neolithic (New Stone Age) era, and taking a close look at the Céide Fields Neolithic site in Mayo.

Recorder classes have begun with our lovely Music Generation teacher, and in PE we are concentrating on the techniques required for various types of jumps, and we will be practicing dodging.
