Our 2024 Active School Week took place from 27th May to 31st May. The week started off with the very popular Table Tennis Takeover Day - in high demand after last year's fun.
On the Tuesday the junior classes had fun an outdoor Treasure Hunt, while the senior classes tried their hand at Throlf (Throwing Golf!), counting their throws of some (bouncy) balls on the way from the "tee" to 9 different hoops, and marking their scores along the way.
Wednesday was our sponsored Marathon relay day where the school collectively ran over 40,000 metres in lap relays around the yard, raising money for the school.
Thursday was competitions day. The whole school participated in skipping and hula hoop competitions - we think some of the children could hula forever! Later, 6th class teams went up against the teachers in a basketball shoot-out - another perpetually popular event!
Friday was Dance Takeover Day! We started out with some "Wake Up, Shake Up" sessions, had some "Drop Everything and Dance" moments when the bell rang, and, had a combined disco and céilí in the yard for the whole school!
