6th Class has started the Picker Pals programme again this weekend. Each weekend a different child will take home a Hi Viz jacket, a litter picker, rubbish bag and a sheet to record where they picked up litter, how long they were out, how much rubbish they collected and who accompanied them. There is a space to draw a picture of the activity or they can attach a photo of themselves looking after the local environment. This programme was developed to encourage children to take responsibility for caring for the environment and it ties in nicely with Science and Geography curricular areas.
