Irish Aid Centre Workshop

13th Mar 2025
On Wednesday 12th March 5th and 6th class went into Dublin for an Irish Aid Workshop. They learned lots of interesting information on how Ireland provides help and assistance to 130 countries throughout the world. They also learned about the UN Global Goals for Sustainabible Development 2015 - 2030. The workshop involved activities and games and it tied in perfectly with the SPHE curriculum, specifically Myself and The Wider World - Developing Citizenship.
They enjoyed playing the West African djembe drums at the end of the session.
The facilitator commended the pupils on their excellent behaviour and super engagement throughout the session and she was very impressed with how bright and informed they were with regard to environmental issues and world affairs. Lovely to hear!
The weather was perfect so they were able to have a picnic lunch in The Iveagh Gardens.
Thank you to Adam's Mum who brought this workshop to my attention and to all the helpers who accompanied us to the workshop - Agnieszka, Rory, Naomi, Linda and Michael.

A great day was had by all!!
